A keystone of American society passed its centennial mark as it still continues to be a youth teaching organization set out to teach basic life skills as well as prep our youth for exploration and survival. These basic skills have been proven to produce well rounded young individuals that as a majority grow up to lead fulfilling lives and descent standing citizens of society. As boy scouts of America in the past they have gathered goods during wartime as well as plant hundreds of victory gardens. Boy scouts have grown up to me top leaders in their fields as well as professional soldiers in the United States armed forces. With so much at stake in a young man’s life it is important to guide them in the right path to make the most of themselves and strive to deliver their all. We constantly see a lack in parental skills as children are growing into young adults having no form of guidance and nothing to put their skills to the test in order to make them strive for what’s better. The boy scouts of America have fought the media and have caught flack for divulging that they are a Christian based organization yet their camps and classes work on building leadership skills and teaching survival as well as the need for conservation in nature. The pluses of boy scouts of America are the social skills and the friendships made between scouts.  The fact that this organization has lasted 100 years and still continues to go strong speaks well for the organization and helps us to appreciate the foresight of the organization in working to build our youth.
